FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
The WYSE Access Program provides confidential, need-based financial assistance to help young athletes access high-quality training, teams, equipment and competitive opportunities.
Support extends beyond registration fees. Depending on each family’s circumstances and available funding, WYSE may help cover the different costs required for a child to participate fully—from training at The WYSE Clubhouse to joining a team, obtaining equipment and traveling to approved events.
Our goal is simple: financial circumstances should never prevent a deserving young athlete from having the opportunity to train, compete and grow.
-
The WYSE Access Program is available to youth athletes whose families demonstrate financial need and who participate—or are seeking to participate—in an eligible WYSE program or an approved partner program.
Eligibility is based primarily on:
Household income and household size
The total cost of participation
Other assistance available to the family
Recent financial hardship or changed circumstances
Available WYSE Access Program funding
For selective teams and programs, the applicable organization independently determines whether an athlete earns a roster spot or is accepted into the program. WYSE does not make roster decisions. Financial-assistance applications are reviewed separately and do not influence athletic selection.
Applying does not guarantee assistance. Awards may cover all or part of an eligible expense and are based on demonstrated need, program requirements and available funding.
-
Families may request assistance in one or more of the following areas:
WYSE Clubhouse Membership
Full or partial support for an eligible TRAIN, DEVELOP or PERFORM membership, including access to applicable Clubhouse training and development resources.
Team and Program Fees
Assistance with Westchester Giants or other approved organizational team fees, clinics, camps and required training programs.
Equipment and Uniforms
Support for required uniforms, footwear, protective equipment and other sport-specific gear. WYSE may purchase equipment directly, provide a vendor credit or offer suitable equipment from a loaner inventory.
Travel and Participation Expenses
Assistance with approved tournament transportation, lodging and other necessary athlete participation expenses.
Exceptional Participation Needs
Families may also request consideration for another expense that is necessary for a young athlete to participate. These requests are evaluated individually.
-
All WYSE Access Program applications are handled confidentially.
Financial information and supporting documents are reviewed only by specifically authorized WYSE personnel. The independent WYSE Financial Access Committee reviews anonymized application information and does not ordinarily receive applicant names, contact information or underlying financial documents.
Coaches, teams, program partners, other families and donors do not receive your financial information. Applying for assistance will not affect roster or program-selection decisions.
If assistance is approved, a team, program provider or vendor will receive only the information necessary to credit the athlete’s account or fulfill the approved expense.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, bank-account information, credit-card information or detailed medical records. Sensitive numbers should be redacted from uploaded documents.
